How to Tie a Noose I always imagined my death would be peaceful, and as my gaze travelled from the long, thick rope with the loop at the end to the lush forest surrounding me, I knew I couldn't find a more peaceful end. Of course, in my imagination when I died I was old and dying of natural causes... But I'll die surrounded by nature, that counts for something right? I guess I'm not dying old, but this way I'll be pretty at my funeral.  The rope gripped tight in my hands was about to be wrapped  tight around my throat, the branch I was attempting to balance on would soon be gone, and the breath I gasped in as I slipped slightly on the branch
